Comprehensive Compliance Program Pursuant to California Law
Pursuant to California Health and Safety Code sections 119400 and 119402, Talecris Biotherapeutics, Inc. ("Talecris") has developed and implemented the following Comprehensive Compliance Program ("CCP").
Talecris's compliance policies are not new. In compliance, however, with the requirements of California law, Talecris is now making these policies available on this Web site and, upon request, in a hard-copy version.
California's laws are part of a panoply of state and federal requirements that govern the conduct of companies such as Talecris in the marketing, sales and promotions of their products. Violation of these requirements may result in jail sentences, large fines, or exclusion from Federal and State programs including Medicare, Medicaid and those operated by the Department of Defense.
Talecris promotes a culture that supports adherence to high ethical standards and compliance with all applicable legal requirements. The company provides appropriate training to assist employees in meeting the responsibility of conducting business in a complaint, accountable and professional manner. Each employee subject to such training is required to certify that he or she has completed it.
All Talecris employees must comply with all legal requirements and are expected to report suspected violations of our compliance programs and related policies to their supervisors, the Law and Patents Department, or the Compliance Officer through the Confidential Disclosure Line maintained by the company. Reports to the Confidential Disclosure Line may be made anonymously. Talecris is committed to thorough investigation of all reports it receives and no employee will be subjected to retaliation or any other adverse action for making a report in good faith.
Talecris declares that as of July 1, 2007 it is in compliance with California's Health and Safety Codes and has adopted a CCP applicable to California medical or health professionals. Talecris further declares that it is not aware of any violations of its CCP relating to California medical or health professionals on or after the effective date of California Health and Safety Code sections 119400 and 119402.
